Focus for 2007-2009: Stronger Together

Our Sisterhood Board pledges to focus on Reform Jewish ideals and ideas, both old and new, which are relevant to our lives as 21st century women. We will give our members opportunities to grow as Reform Jewish women, to nurture our minds and our souls as we nurture our families and friends, our Temple and community, and work to heal the world.

The Women of Reform Judaism in Pensacola are not all members of the Temple and they aren’t all Jewish. But they are committed, as it says in our mission statement, to Reform Jewish ideals.

Raised funds for backpack program; collected items for dragon store; gave program on Hanukkah.

Mitzvah of the Month
Collecting items for local charities and promoting social action.

Cooked dinners about twice every month.

Meetings

Monthly meetings
Held August through May. Topics included community leaders, self defense, kosher cooking and Jewish music.

Evening Socials
Were held every month on the second Tuesday in 2007 to 2008. In 2008-2009, there will be three evening meetings: 2^nd Annual Paid Up Membership Dinner- Sept 9^th; Sisterhood Hanukkah Get Together- Dec 9^th and Women’s Chocolate Seder- Mar 17^th.

Sisterhood monthly meetings take place on the third Wednesday of the month at noon at the Temple from August through April. The first meeting of 2008 will be at The Yacht Club on August 20^th. The last meeting of the year, in May, will be the installation of new officers.
